Various types of colored papers where used to layer each butterfly, glued down the middle, with a pipe cleaner to create the body. Each wrapped pipe cleaner had about 2 inches left unwrapped/sticking out in order to allow enough length to secure each creation. Voila!<br /><br /><br /><iframe allowfullscreen='allowfullscreen' webkitallowfullscreen='webkitallowfullscreen' mozallowfullscreen='mozallowfullscreen' width='457' height='447' src='https://www.blogger.com/video.g?token=AD6v5dzOewAnzO-tKK6Pa_pQOsYrPnJXcajITz8AZRh5LG9FPRxbbEOMvP1X4W50v-Vrp6FJ0FBXMiYBsBQaqkJDDw' class='b-hbp-video b-uploaded' frameborder='0'></iframe>Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3111371672563891028.post-39451645010672567812009-03-25T21:21:00.000-07:002009-03-25T21:43:34.652-07:00Spring Door<div align="left"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhpdmRHmgNHMX_GjiUDcueyQoUQ68BZyC8EW_JQPMkMWcNj1XvZbQjmRZySSXM8WMBf0XCBhJi1ZdsuFstVX1L7B58DLrnEX8E10E0kQF-zavFpyBZvtgK8TJ7CpdHadbgn13uRsFXcgEZ_/s1600-h/MatisseDoor.jpg"><img style="MARGIN: 0px 10px 10px 0px; WIDTH: 200px; FLOAT: left; HEIGHT: 400px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5317348647546333554" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhpdmRHmgNHMX_GjiUDcueyQoUQ68BZyC8EW_JQPMkMWcNj1XvZbQjmRZySSXM8WMBf0XCBhJi1ZdsuFstVX1L7B58DLrnEX8E10E0kQF-zavFpyBZvtgK8TJ7CpdHadbgn13uRsFXcgEZ_/s400/MatisseDoor.jpg" /></a><br /></div><div align="left"><span style="font-family:verdana;">A Spring door. </span></div><div align="left"><span style="font-family:verdana;">The kids "<a href="http://www.henri-matisse.net/cut_outs.html"><span style="color:#990000;">painted with scissors</span></a>" </span><span style="font-family:verdana;">like </span></div><div align="left"><span style="font-family:verdana;">Henri Matisse did in his later years.</span></div><div align="left"><span style="font-family:verdana;">These Matisse </span><span style="font-family:verdana;">styled cut-outs </span><span style="font-family:verdana;">were </span></div><div align="left"><span style="font-family:verdana;">done </span><span style="font-family:verdana;">using only scissors </span><span style="font-family:verdana;">and colored </span></div><div align="left"><span style="font-family:verdana;">paper (no drawing </span><span style="font-family:verdana;">instruments), </span></div><div align="left"><span style="font-family:verdana;">then </span><span style="font-family:verdana;">glued to paper </span><span style="font-family:verdana;">on the door. </span></div><div align="left"><span style="font-family:verdana;">It was a team effort</span>! </div><div align="left"></div><div align="left"></div><div align="left"></div><div align="left"></div><div align="left"><a href="http://www.henri-matisse.net/cut_outs.html"><span style="color:#660000;">click to learn more about Matisse's paper-cut-outs</span></a></div>Unknownnoreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3111371672563891028.post-57064413004389222552009-03-21T11:57:00.000-07:002009-03-21T12:22:09.811-07:00Spring BlossomsThe kids were shown paintings of Van Gough's skies and instructed to create their own dream-like sky depicting Spring.
